A new stop on WE R FOOD's creative platform, bringing together beverage and design with Milan as the backdrop. The setting is Isola, a former working-class district in constant transformation that has today become the city's new hub.
The protagonists of this fourth stop are: RIVO Gin, Wood*ing Bar, designer Vincenzo Sorrentino and photographer Andrea Pedretti.
From their union and synergy comes 0.0, the signature cocktail that will be presented on 15 June as part of the WILDLY – Bartendency Experience event at Wood*ing Bar in Via Garigliano 8, Milan, for this unprecedented WE R FOOD event. The key word behind the concept is foraging: the practice — in both food and beverage — of using wild plants gathered with the utmost respect for the environment, in their natural, uncontaminated habitat.

It's an integral part of the philosophy of Wood*ing Bar, the first endemic bar whose cocktails are prepared using wild, low environmental-impact ingredients gathered from the most varied ecosystems, from high mountains to the sea. The same mantra applies to RIVO Gin, an Italian spirit born from the union of several botanical species, including rare ingredients hand-picked directly from the meadows around Lake Como.
Communicating and interpreting this age-old practice, weaving it together with contemporary design as an added value, is WE R FOOD's idea — the insight behind the entire project.
The name chosen for the drink evokes ground zero, a return to nature: the spirit, the selected herbs and the designed glass are all the result of a sustainable process capable of creating a zero-impact cocktail.
Within this context sits the creative work of designer Vincenzo Sorrentino who, inspired by the wildness of foraging, drew on the Vesuvius area, his homeland, to shape — using a pine cone gathered along the volcano's slopes — a 100% natural glass, mould-made and crafted from water and isomalt sugar.

The project is brought to life through the photographic eye of Andrea Pedretti, whose original images abstractly reproduce lakeside atmospheres, drawing on the setting of Lake Como, where RIVO Gin is born. The lake's water, static by definition, becomes an installation element held within glass cylinders which, like mirrors, distort and transform the pine cone-shaped glass designed for the occasion.
